Remote Staff Backend Engineer

Salary: £146,000 - 176,000 per year

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of work experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Extensive experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot
• Extensive experience with reactive programming and Spring Reactive
• Deep understanding of AWS cloud technologies and building scalable multi-region applications
• Experience with AWS serverless and serverless-supported languages
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and CockroachDB
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Amazon Kinesis and Kafka
• Experience with message queues such as SQS, RabbitMQ, and ActiveMQ
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Experience with core services around player journeys and experiences
• Nice to have: experience with sports betting, trading development, and casino software
• Nice to have: knowledge of general trading rules and feed providers
• Nice to have: knowledge of odds feeds such as Radar, Genius, Swich, and Simplebet

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical point of contact for various stakeholders
• Contribute high-quality code and demonstrate strong technical capability and passion for technology
• Be responsible for the quality, scope, and timeliness of all deliverables
• Take ownership of the backend implementation and help shape its architecture
• Tackle problems with innovative ideas and high-quality technical solutions
