Job Description

Senior Python Engineer - Data Platform (Remote) We're partnering with a highly regarded, technology-driven investment firm that builds innovative, research-backed financial products.

Their engineering team is focused on developing scalable, high-performance systems that power critical investment decisions across research, trading, and portfolio management.

They're looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join their Data Distribution team, where you'll play a key role in building and optimizing a modern enterprise data platform.

Location: Fully remote (candidates must be based in North Carolina, Texas, or California) The Role As a Senior Python Engineer, you'll be working on a central investment data warehouse that supports core business functions including research, trading, analytics, and portfolio management.

This is a hands-on role where you'll: • Design and build scalable data platforms and services • Develop and optimize data pipelines end-to-end (ingestion → validation → delivery) • Work closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions • Build high-performance APIs and data transfer systems • Contribute to architecture decisions and modern engineering best practices • Support production systems and ensure reliability, availability, and performance What You'll Be Doing • Build and deliver data-driven applications and services • Develop ETL pipelines and improve data architecture • Design and implement RESTful APIs • Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance • Optimize systems for speed, scalability, and reliability • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and documentation • Participate in code reviews and system design discussions • Troubleshoot and support live production environments What They're Looking For • 5+ years of Python experience (open-source ecosystem preferred) • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets • Experience building APIs and distributed systems • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts and pipelines • Experience building high-performance, scalable applications • Strong grasp of software design principles (SOLID, DDD, etc.) • Experience writing well-tested, maintainable code • Understanding of security best practices • Comfortable working in Agile/fast-paced environments What Makes This Role Compelling • Fully remote role with flexibility (within NC, TX, or CA) • High-impact work supporting core investment systems • Opportunity to build data platforms from the ground up • Collaborative, intellectually curious engineering culture • Strong focus on modern technologies and best practices • Real ownership and visibility across the business
