Requirements
- We have experience managing or mentoring the performance and development of high-performing engineers.
- We have strong experience in data warehousing architecture at scale.
- We have experience and a passion for leading data warehousing, data visualisation, big data, or ETL projects as an analyst, developer, designer, or architect.
- We know what it takes to hire great engineers within the data space.
- We are equally comfortable working hands on and leading a team.
- Nice to have: experience working within a finance or banking environment.
- Nice to have: experience working in a highly regulated environment such as finance, insurance, gaming, food, or healthcare.
- Nice to have: experience with dbt, BigQuery, and Looker.
Responsibilities
- We will lead and nurture a team of 5 to 6 analytics engineers through coaching, support, regular 1:1s, and continuous feedback.
- We will be a hands-on leader building a discipline of exceptional analytics engineers and raising the standard of data at Monzo.
- We will help prioritise initiatives and projects, working closely with other leads across our collectives.
- We will participate in reviews, architecture and design leadership, and development of our own pipeline changes.
- We will contribute to hiring within Analytics Engineering.
- We will work with other leads to deliver scalable, consistent governance and best practices.
- We will drive effective project management of central Analytics Engineering projects, ensuring delivery to scope and deadlines.
- We will act as a trusted partner to collectives and the leadership team, working hands on or through others to get things done.
- We will support and own the pipelines we contribute to, including occasional out-of-hours on-call support.

This role can be based in our London office or remotely within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.
