Security Designer/Security Architect

Salary: £125,000 - 150,000 per year

Requirements

• We require active SC Clearance, or eligibility to obtain UK Security Vetting at SC/DV level.
• We require experience producing security designs and security architecture artefacts.
• We require experience undertaking threat modelling and risk assessments.
• We require knowledge of NCSC guidance and Government security standards.
• We require experience supporting security assurance and accreditation activities.
• We require understanding of cloud security principles, including AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• We require experience working in Agile and DevSecOps delivery environments.
• We require strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
• We require experience working within UK Government environments.
• We require that candidates meet relevant residency requirements and, where applicable, reserved post nationality restrictions.

Responsibilities

• We develop and maintain security design documentation for new and existing services.
• We produce Security Design Packs, Security Architecture Documents and Security Assurance artefacts.
• We conduct threat modelling workshops and document security controls.
• We review solution designs and ensure alignment with security policies and standards.
• We define security requirements for projects and programmes.
• We support security assurance, accreditation and governance activities.
• We identify security risks and recommend proportionate mitigations.
• We work with delivery teams to embed security throughout the system development life cycle.
• We support implementation of Secure by Design principles.
• We review security testing outputs and track remediation activities.
• We provide security advice to project and technical stakeholders.
• We contribute to security design reviews and architecture forums.

We are recruiting for an experienced SC Cleared Security Design/Security Architect to support the delivery of secure services within a major Home Office programme. This is a remote temporary contract, paid at £500 to £600 per day inside IR35, working under the direction of our client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We follow established delivery processes and working practices, and clearance sponsorship will be provided where required.
