Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong VMware vSphere administration experience
• Experience with Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Enterprise networking experience, ideally with HPE switching
• Firewall administration experience, ideally Palo Alto
• Familiarity with backup and recovery platforms such as Veeam or Zerto
• Experience operating infrastructure in production environments

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain VMware vSphere environments
• Administer Windows Server and Active Directory infrastructure
• Manage enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery platforms
• Maintain and optimise HPE switching infrastructure and VLAN architecture
• Manage Palo Alto firewall environments and secure remote access
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, and infrastructure documentation
• Support ITIL processes including incident, change, and problem management
• Mentor and support a small team within the IT function

We are a well-established international organisation seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team at our UK headquarters in Cannock. This hands-on role entails taking ownership of our core infrastructure platforms and mentoring a small team while ensuring our environment remains secure, stable, and highly available. Our working environment is fully on-site with standard hours from 08:30 to 17:00, and out-of-hours work is rare, limited to a few weekends and evenings per year for maintenance or upgrades. We offer overtime or time off in lieu when necessary.
