Salary: £30,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex programmes
• Strong background in cloud architecture, with GCP preferred and AWS/Azure acceptable
• Experience designing secure, scalable enterprise systems
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and distributed systems
• Experience producing architecture documentation, including HLD and LLD
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Experience working in agile environments
• Experience in secure or government environments is highly desirable
• Hybrid cloud and connectivity experience is highly desirable
• Experience across integration layers, APIs, and messaging platforms is highly desirable
• Kubernetes or container platform exposure is highly desirable
• Familiarity with architecture governance frameworks is highly desirable
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, GCP, or equivalent are highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end solution architecture across cloud, platform, and integration domains
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs
• Produce and govern high- and low-level designs (HLD and LLD)
• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and architectural standards
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
• Drive best practices across cloud architecture and delivery
• Oversee integration patterns across systems and services
• Support design reviews, governance forums, and assurance activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to manage risks and dependencies
• Ensure solutions are optimised for performance, cost, and resilience

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud-based solutions within a complex and secure environment. This is a hybrid role based in London, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The contract is outside IR35 at £650 per day, with a strong likelihood of extension. An active SC clearance is required.
