User Researcher (SC Cleared) - Contract

Salary: £104,400 - 110,000 per year

Requirements

• Active Security Clearance (SC) - must be current and transferable
• Strong GDS experience, including working to the Government Service Standard
• Demonstrable experience delivering user research across discovery, alpha and beta phases
• Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, multidisciplinary delivery teams and service owners
• Ability to translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights that influence design and product decisions

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and deliver a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research activities
• Champion user-centred design principles and evidence-led decision-making across the team
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, developers and policy colleagues
• Communicate insights effectively through research reports, playback sessions and workshops
• Ensure all research outputs align with GDS standards and support service assessments
