Salary: £117,000 - 117,000 per year
Requirements
- Experience: 4-8 years
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong Red Hat skills, preferably RH certification
- Understanding of operations in public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile, Automation, Jira, and Confluence
- Solid grasp of Linux OS fundamentals, including problem-solving and performance tuning
- Good understanding of HPC infrastructure and applications
- Exposure to HPC workload management tools such as IBM Spectrum LSF
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Shell, Python, Perl, or similar
- Experience with cloud technologies in AWS and/or Google Cloud
- Good understanding and experience with infrastructure and application monitoring and alerting tools
- Good understanding of remote display and interactive technologies such as ETX
- Solid skills in vulnerability management and security patching in a constantly evolving environment
- Ability to automate common repetitive tasks
- Relevant experience in a distributed team
- Experience working in a sophisticated, multi-geography, engineering services environment
- Experience providing technical support to an engineering user community
- Nice to have: experience with Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and/or continuous integration applications
- Nice to have: knowledge of HPC applications such as Flex-based licenses and EDA tools
Responsibilities
- Work closely with technical leads, technical managers, project managers, and engineering teams across Infrastructure and Engineering
- Provide automated project solutions
- Support daily ticket systems for common technical issues
- Act as a core resource for high-visibility projects
- Help make our services secure, resilient, and aligned with the newest technologies

We are seeking a SME-equivalent HPC engineer for a hybrid role based in Cambridge, with two days in the office. You will join our Infrastructure and Engineering teams and work across a sophisticated, multi-geography engineering services environment, supporting technical users and contributing to high-visibility projects that improve service security, resilience, and technology adoption.
