Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements
- We require strong experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- We require proficiency in Google Cloud Platform, with IoT service experience.
- We require solid scripting and programming skills in Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell.
- We require knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- We require understanding of IoT protocols including MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP/REST APIs.
- We require experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and branching strategies.
- We require at least 4 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- We require at least 5 years of experience with CI/CD tools.
- We require at least 4 years of experience with Python, Java, Bash, and PowerShell.
- We require at least 4 years of experience with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- We require at least 4 years of experience with MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP/REST APIs.
- We require at least 2 years of experience with version control systems and branching strategies.
- We prefer experience with LoRaWAN and other IoT communication technologies.
- We prefer IoT-specific experience involving LNS, registers, and device management.
- We prefer understanding of embedded systems and firmware development workflows.
- We prefer experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or CloudWatch.
- We prefer knowledge of networking, VPNs, and security protocols for IoT.
- We prefer experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- We prefer familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- We prefer a Bachelors degree.
- We require English language proficiency.
- We require the right to work in the United Kingdom.
- We prefer a GCP Certified DevOps Engineer qualification.
Responsibilities
- We design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for IoT firmware and application deployments.
- We automate build, test, and deployment processes using industry-standard tools.
- We manage version control systems and branching strategies for multiple development teams.
- We implement automated testing frameworks for firmware and software validation.
- We manage and optimise Google Cloud Platform infrastructure supporting IoT device fleets.
- We design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- We monitor and maintain cloud platform performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- We implement auto-scaling and load balancing for IoT backend services.
- We develop and manage IoT devices, including LNS, return commands, and firmware updates.
- We implement staged rollout strategies with rollback capabilities for firmware deployments.
- We monitor device health and connectivity across global deployments.
- We automate edge computing and gateway management processes.
- We implement security best practices for IoT device authentication and data transmission.
- We manage secrets, credentials, and certificate lifecycle automation.
- We ensure compliance with data protection and security standards across regions.
- We conduct security vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- We design and implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems.
- We respond to and resolve infrastructure and deployment incidents.
- We conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- We maintain system documentation and runbooks.
