DevOps Engineer - Active Security, Linux, AWS

Salary: £51,000 - 51,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven commercial experience working as a DevOps Engineer within the Public Sector.
• Active SC Clearance.
• Strong experience with Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), AWS, and high-availability Kubernetes environments (EKS/RKE) including load balancing and multi-site failover.
• Proficient in containerisation and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Skilled in IaC and automation with Terraform, Ansible, and supporting cloud-native platform modernisation.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), Git version control, and automated delivery practices.
• Experienced with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of data and streaming technologies including Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, plus PKI, secrets management, and IAM.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Nice to have: Puppet, KeyCloak, Vault, and experience supporting microservice architectures.
• Immediate availability.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement solutions in line with best practices.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
• Maintain high availability systems and troubleshoot issues in production.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for efficient deployment and management of cloud resources.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Monitor system performance and implement changes as necessary for improved operational continuity.
• Stay updated with latest technologies and trends in cloud computing and DevOps practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
