Backend Interface Developer

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• We require a university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related science subject.
• We require a strong understanding of HL7 and FHIR message exchange protocols.
• We require a sound understanding of NHS data standards.
• We require expertise in .NET, C#, and C++.
• We require familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and GIT.
• We require some familiarity with SQL database engines, preferably MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and optimisation.
• We require at least 2 years of relevant development industry experience.
• Experience in an agile development environment is desirable.
• Experience with clinical safety standards such as DCB0129/0160 and IEC 62304 is desirable.
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry and NHS is desirable.
• Exposure to medical device software or diagnostic platforms is desirable.
• Unit testing framework experience such as MSTest, NUnit, or NSubstitute is desirable.

Responsibilities

• We will extend HL7 interfaces as required by business and product expansion.
• We will develop non-HL7 data transport interfaces as needed.
• We will assist in the development and design of software units and applications to meet specifications.
• We will develop software units and applications according to design specifications.
• We will participate in the production of technical documentation.
• We will write efficient, well-structured code that conforms to current standards.
• We will contribute to improvements in the development process.
