[Remote] Sr. Data Engineer, Data Platform

This role involves technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration with stakeholders to create scalable data solutions that meet complex business requirements.

Responsibilities Architect and design enterprise-scale data platforms and pipeline solutions using Spark, Azure Databricks, and related technologiesBuild and optimize data models and dimensional schemas for complex analytics and AI/ML use-casesLead technical design reviews and mentor junior data engineers on best practices and architectural patternsEstablish data quality, governance, and metadata management frameworks across the platformCollaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical solutionsDrive optimization initiatives for data pipeline performance, cost, and reliabilityParticipate in hiring and team building for the data engineering functionContribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform strategyTroubleshoot complex data pipeline failures and implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions Skills 5+ years experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fieldExpert-level SQL and experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)Deep experience designing and maintaining large-scale data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, or similar orchestration toolsStrong proficiency in Python or Scala for complex data processingAdvanced understanding of data modeling, dimensional design, data warehousing conceptsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) at scaleProven ability to mentor and guide junior engineersExperience architecting data platforms from the ground upExperience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecturesExpertise in real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis)Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, and metadata management systemsExperience with ML infrastructure and feature storesBackground in regulatory-heavy industries or complex compliance requirementsExperience with infrastructure-as-code and DataOps practices Company Overview At Mirion Technologies, we advance radiation safety and empower the next wave of critical innovation.
