AI Software Engineer - Birmingham

Salary: £75,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• Deep Firebase expertise, including Firestore, Cloud Run, Auth, and Security Rules, with experience building production systems
• Demonstrable experience building and deploying complex AI applications using LLMs, ideally including agentic workflows
• Familiarity with vector databases such as pgvector, ChromaDB, Pinecone, or similar is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build the end-to-end architecture, security, performance, and integrations for our AI platform on Firebase using Claude API and leading LLMs
• Work closely with our Head of Product to turn well-defined specs and prototypes into production-quality code
• Help establish our engineering function as we grow by hiring, structuring, and mentoring the team
• Take on a hands-on lead engineering role with a clear path to CTO as the company scales
