Salary: £54,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• We require strong expertise in AWS.
• We require an AWS Solutions Architect certification, or equivalent experience at a similar level.
• We require a Google Professional Cloud Architect certification, or equivalent experience at a similar level.
• We require experience working in a Lead Cloud Engineer or similar senior cloud engineering role.
• We require experience designing, delivering, and optimising cloud infrastructure and tooling.
• We require experience working with multi-cloud environments, specifically AWS and Google Cloud.
• We require experience with cloud architecture, security, performance, and sustainability best practices.
• We require experience automating processes to improve efficiency.
• We require experience working with enterprise architecture, development, security, and cloud standards.
• We require the ability to work through an umbrella company in an IR35 environment.
• We require the ability to work on a hybrid basis, with 2 days per week in London and 3 days remote.

Responsibilities

• We are responsible for the design, delivery, and optimisation of self-service cloud infrastructure and tooling.
• We ensure our cloud applications and services are secure, high performing, and sustainable.
• We provide a high-quality user experience for software engineers, suppliers, and other users accessing cloud infrastructure.
• We are responsible for the continued development and maintenance of our multi-cloud platform across AWS and Google Cloud.
• We automate processes to improve efficiency and streamline delivery.
• We work with senior enterprise architecture colleagues to define and evolve our cloud engineering target architecture.
• We provide oversight and assurance that the current architecture is implemented in line with our development, security, and cloud standards.
• We support the delivery of a robust and mature cloud platform within the public sector.

We are recruiting for a Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team on a hybrid basis, with 2 days per week in London and 3 days remote. This is an inside IR35 contract role, so the successful candidate will need to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the assignment. You will join a public sector cloud platform environment where we value secure, scalable, and well-governed engineering. We are seeking someone who can help us continue building and maturing our AWS and Google Cloud platform, improve automation, and work closely with enterprise architecture colleagues to shape our cloud future.
