Network Engineer / Infrastructure Administrator

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience in a 3rd line support, Network Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Administrator, or similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies in an on-premises and hybrid environment
• Experience with Windows Server builds, upgrades, changes, and deployments
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP, and GPOs
• Experience with Hyper-V, SQL, Microsoft Failover Clustering, File and Print, and WDS
• Experience supporting Office 365, cloud integrations, and hybrid Active Directory environments
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPNaaS, and wireless access points
• Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam and secure local/cloud storage
• Experience with patch management and endpoint operating system deployment
• Experience with email services and client configuration, including Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, and Mimecast
• Experience with endpoint security, antivirus policy management, and SAN storage administration

Responsibilities

• Join a small team responsible for the support of the companys overall network and IT environment
• Build, configure, deploy, and maintain physical servers and virtual environments
• Administer Microsoft Server, Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, Hyper-V, SQL, Failover Clustering, File and Print, and WDS
• Configure and monitor firewalls, switches, VPNaaS, and wireless access points to maintain reliable connectivity
• Administer the Microsoft 365 stack, including user management, licence assignment, security configuration, and system health monitoring
• Support hybrid Active Directory, Teams, Entra, SharePoint, Exchange, mobile management, and Intune
• Manage backups and ensure secure storage, retrieval, and recovery of data across local and cloud platforms
• Deploy and remediate server and desktop patches and vulnerabilities
• Build and deploy operating system images for endpoints
• Manage email services and client configuration across Mimecast, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Exchange
• Control and maintain endpoint security, including antivirus policies, agent deployment, and platform health
• Configure and manage SAN-based centralised storage

We are recruiting for one of our leading clients for a permanent Network Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Administrator / 3rd Line Engineer role based in Daventry, Northamptonshire. This is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite and 3 days remote each week, offering a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 plus excellent benefits. You will work in a small team supporting the companys network, server, desktop, and cloud infrastructure across a predominantly Microsoft-based environment.
