Remote Senior Software Engineer

Salary: £87,000 - 87,000 per year

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in the .NET and C# ecosystem, with experience designing and implementing large-scale, complex systems.
• In-depth understanding of architectural principles and patterns for distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architecture using Kafka.
• Experience applying resilience mechanisms and performance tuning practices to ensure system stability and efficiency at scale.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure and services such as AWS and Kubernetes/EKS, along with DevOps best practices using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and Terraform.
• Strong leadership and cross-team collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical efforts across multiple teams and align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex systems within our In-Store domain and influence technical direction and strategy.
• Own the delivery of large-scale features and projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and aligning with business objectives.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and senior engineers, helping grow team expertise and fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to shape requirements and make architectural and technical decisions.
• Build high-quality, resilient, and scalable distributed systems using best practices.
• Lead troubleshooting and incident management efforts, resolving critical production issues and improving reliability.
• Drive improvements in development practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and test automation coverage.
• Coordinate and lead cross-team technical initiatives to ensure consistency and integration across services and platforms.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and assess new tools and techniques to enhance our capabilities.
• Own our delivery pipeline and continuously optimize code quality, testing standards, and deployment practices.
