Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in data science.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop data scientists, guiding teams to deliver high-quality, impactful work.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with end users, peers, and senior leaders.
- Fluency in data science techniques across statistics, machine learning, and GenAI.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with the ability to build reliable, scalable solutions.
- Experience working in cloud environments on Linux and/or Windows platforms; Azure experience is a plus.
- A strong track record of delivering the full lifecycle of data science products and projects.
- Experience working within regulated utility environments.
- Experimental design experience and a hypothesis-driven mindset.
- Familiarity with interactive visualisation tools; Power BI is a plus.
- Knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS.
- Desirable: exposure to highly regulated sectors such as utilities, power, energy, electricity, water, gas, nuclear, financial services, or telecoms.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing data science team while staying hands-on.
- Deliver impactful projects and build AI models.
- Write code and turn data into clear, actionable insights.
- Mentor and develop team members to support high-quality delivery.
- Work closely with end users, peers, and senior leaders to communicate insights and solutions.
- Support the full lifecycle delivery of data science products and projects.
- Apply statistical, machine learning, and GenAI techniques to solve business problems.
- Produce data visualisations and support the use of interactive visualisation tools.
- Contribute to experimental design and hypothesis-driven analysis.
