IT Project Manager

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong track record delivering Finance, HR, and Payroll system implementations.
• We need experience working in care, healthcare, or multi-site environments.
• We require experience managing complex digital transformation or system implementation programmes end to end.
• We value experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Planner, and other Agile tools.
• We need knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban and/or PRINCE2.
• We expect experience with data migration, data cleansing, and validation.
• We require strong reporting skills, including data visualisation and progress tracking.
• Experience with Sona workforce management or similar systems is preferred.
• We need excellent stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• We are looking for someone comfortable operating in fast-paced, transformation-led environments.
• Candidates must be within commutable distance of Carmarthen.
• Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• We will rely on you to lead the full project lifecycle from initiation through to delivery.
• You will define scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource plans.
• You will manage project plans using tools such as MS Project.
• You will ensure delivery against agreed milestones, budget, and quality standards.
• You will own and maintain RAID logs, including risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
• You will proactively identify, track, and escalate risks and issues.
• You will provide structured reporting on project progress and performance.
• You will ensure clear governance and documentation across all phases.
• You will act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders across Finance, HR, Payroll, and IT, as well as external vendors and implementation partners.
• You will facilitate steering committees and stakeholder forums.
• You will ensure alignment between business requirements and technology delivery.
• You will lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing across functions.
• You will oversee Payroll UAT, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• You will manage issue tracking, resolution workflows, and reporting.
• You will support data migration, validation, and system integration processes.

We are working on a 12-month fixed-term IT Project Manager opportunity with likely extension. The role is based in Carmarthen, Wales, with a hybrid working pattern or ad hoc site visits alongside remote working. We are seeking someone to support the implementation of Finance, HR, and Payroll systems within a care, healthcare, or multi-site setting. This role will sit at the centre of a digital transformation programme, working closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders to drive successful implementation, user adoption, and business alignment.
