Pricing Data Scientist

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience within insurance pricing
• Strong machine learning and predictive modelling experience
• Python skills
• Strong statistical and mathematical knowledge, including GLMs, regression, hypothesis testing and time-series
• Understanding of customer behaviour, pricing elasticity and price optimisation
• Protection insurance experience preferred, including term assurance, critical illness or income protection
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy pricing, demand, lapse, cross-sell and optimisation models
• Lead strategic pricing initiatives and deliver tactical solutions to support business performance
• Partner with Product, Protection and Distribution teams to drive pricing improvements
• Apply machine learning and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems
• Communicate technical insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

We are a well-established protection insurance provider offering a fully remote role with optional offices in Brighton or Cambridgeshire. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a very likely path to become permanent, offering a salary of up to £60k. The role sits at the intersection of data science, pricing and insurance, and is highly commercial in nature, with the opportunity to shape pricing strategy, trading performance, customer outcomes and strategic decision-making across a range of protection products.
