Senior Tech Lead - FinTech

Salary: £33,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements

• We require solid software engineering experience of around 8+ years, ideally at Senior, Staff, Principal Engineer or Tech Lead level.
• We require experience in FinTech or another regulated environment.
• We require strong backend development and system design experience.
• We require solid understanding of AWS and cloud architecture.
• We require experience with PHP and/or Node.js for backend development.
• We require experience with React, TypeScript and/or React Native for frontend development.
• We require experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployments.
• We require familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• We require excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• We require the ability to lead and mentor engineers.
• We require a hands-on approach to technical work.
• We require a collaborative mindset and clear, confident communication skills.

Responsibilities

• We will act as the technical lead for our engineering team.
• We will support engineers in designing and implementing robust solutions.
• We will review code and advise on architecture decisions.
• We will resolve complex technical issues.
• We will work closely with our Head of Engineering to evolve the platform.
• We will design scalable backend systems and services.
• We will help shape our platform architecture as we scale.
• We will enhance our platform and DevOps capability through AWS infrastructure and cloud-native services.
• We will refine CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
• We will support monitoring, scaling and reliability.
• We will lead technical discussions and design reviews.
