Job Description
Our client is seeking an accomplished Automation and Robotics Engineer to join their leading-edge, fully remote manufacturing technology team.
This role is critical for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced automation and robotic systems that drive efficiency, precision, and innovation in their production processes.
You will be instrumental in integrating cutting-edge technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering principles, programming expertise for robotic systems, and a deep understanding of control systems and automation strategies.
This is a remote-first position, requiring exceptional collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with global teams and on-site implementation partners. Responsibilities include: Designing and specifying automated work cells and robotic systems.
Programming industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) for various manufacturing tasks. Developing and implementing control system logic (PLC programming) for automation equipment. Troubleshooting and debugging complex automation and robotic systems.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and ensure seamless integration. Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new automation projects. Staying current with advancements in robotics, AI, and industrial automation technologies.
Developing comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, programming code, and maintenance manuals. Providing remote technical support and training to on-site teams. Analyzing system performance data to identify opportunities for optimization.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in automation and robotics engineering.
Proven expertise in programming industrial robots from major manufacturers. Strong knowledge of PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols. Experience with machine vision systems and sensor integration.
Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical system design for automation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and project management abilities in a remote environment.
