Python Developer - Remote

Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year

Requirements

• We require SC Clearance.
• We are looking for strong experience in Python development and simulation modelling, particularly with SimPy or similar Discrete Event Simulation (DES) frameworks.
• We need proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, leveraging AI-assisted development tools and vibe coding workflows such as Claude Code.
• We require excellent Python programming skills, with experience developing clean, maintainable, and production-ready code.
• We need hands-on experience with Streamlit or comparable web application front-end frameworks.
• We require experience containerising applications using Docker.
• We want someone comfortable using Claude Code to accelerate software development while working with desensitised datasets.

Responsibilities

• We will expect you to develop Python-based simulation models using SimPy or similar DES frameworks.
• We will expect you to build clean, maintainable, and production-ready Python code.
• We will expect you to create web application front ends using Streamlit or similar frameworks.
• We will expect you to containerise applications using Docker.
• We will expect you to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• We will expect you to use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate delivery.
• We will expect you to work with desensitised datasets.
• We will expect you to attend our Edinburgh site regularly as part of our hybrid working model, with a minimum of 1-2 days per week on-site.
