IT Systems Engineer (Generalist) – Northeast / Hybrid

Salary: £30,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements

• 3+ years in a hands-on IT support or systems role
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, M365, and networking fundamentals
• Experience with VLANs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP (SonicWALL experience a bonus)
• Calm, clear communicator who can work directly with clients
• Someone who enjoys variety and wants to grow into a broader engineering role
• Nice to have: Microsoft certifications (MCSA/MCSE, AZ-900, MS-900)
• Nice to have: CompTIA Network+
• Nice to have: Experience in an MSP or multi-client environment

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and deploy Windows laptops and desktops
• Support Microsoft 365, including user admin, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Intune
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues
• Manage Active Directory users, groups, and permissions
• Support virtualised environments (Hyper-V or VMware)
• Assist with backup systems and disaster recovery tasks
• Configure and support VoIP systems (3CX experience helpful)
• Work directly with clients, providing clear communication and practical solutions
• Maintain documentation and asset records
• Participate in scheduled maintenance and project work
