Requirements

• Strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of cloud technology
• Experience contributing to and writing design documentation, preferably for migration programmes
• Experience working in a multi-supplier environment
• Active or eligible for SC clearance
• Experience with migrations to AWS, private cloud, or on-premise environments is desirable
• Experience with network architectures, Solaris/AIX, Stromasys, integration platforms/ESBs, or directory services is desirable
• Experience creating reference architectures, conducting architecture impact analysis, and producing artefacts to support architectural decisions is desirable

Responsibilities

• Support a large migration programme by working closely with Lead Architects to design and deliver cloud-based solutions
• Contribute to architecture design documents and end-to-end technical designs
• Analyse data to determine appropriate cloud migration approaches
• Assist with troubleshooting during build activities
• Provide hands-on support during migration cutovers
• Help resolve issues and ensure smooth execution of migration activities
• Learn from senior architects and progressively take greater ownership of design work
• Develop broader architectural leadership skills with the goal of growing into a Lead Architect role

We are recruiting a Cloud Architect for a 12-month contract role based in London with remote working. This is an inside IR35 opportunity for umbrella engagement only, and the successful candidate must be active or eligible for SC clearance. You will join a large migration programme and work closely with our Lead Architects and senior architecture team, gaining exposure to design leadership, migration delivery, and broader architectural development. This role offers a strong opportunity to build experience, take on increasing ownership, and grow toward a Lead Architect position.
