Requirements
- Strong commercial experience supporting enterprise Microsoft Azure environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Networking, Compute, Storage, Entra ID (Azure AD), Security, and Governance.
- Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Proven VMware vSphere/ESXi administration experience.
- Strong Windows Server infrastructure knowledge including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure.
- Experience supporting business-critical production platforms.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience leading technical infrastructure or platform initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Azure Landing Zone design and migration experience is desirable.
- AWS exposure is desirable.
- Monitoring and observability tooling experience is desirable.
- ITIL knowledge is desirable.
- Microsoft Azure or VMware certifications are desirable.
- Experience working within enterprise or regulated environments is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery of hybrid platform and infrastructure changes.
- Drive Azure platform modernisation, including migration from legacy Azure Landing Zones.
- Manage and support enterprise Azure services across compute, networking, storage, identity, and security.
- Maintain hybrid connectivity between Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
- Support and administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Manage and maintain VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Lead incident resolution, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across hybrid platforms.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams to deliver platform improvements.
- Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, and platform standards.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hybrid Platform Engineer / Technical Lead to join a major enterprise customer in Warwickshire on a hybrid basis, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. This is a 5-month contract opportunity focused on leading the evolution of a complex hybrid platform environment, with around 75% emphasis on Microsoft Azure and 25% on on-premises infrastructure. You will help modernise enterprise infrastructure, support business-critical production environments, and work with a strong technology stack including Microsoft Azure, Terraform, VMware vSphere/ESXi, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure Networking, and hybrid cloud services. We also offer the chance to work closely with Architecture, Security, and Engineering teams, plus a referral reward of up to £1,000 if your referral is successful.
