Data Engineer

Salary: £18,000 - 19,500 per year

Requirements

• Experience with MongoDB: Essential for this role!
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, and familiarity with tools like Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• Strong grasp of data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO27001).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Relevant bachelors or masters degree or technology certifications are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and efficient data pipelines, ensuring accessible and high-quality data.
• Help shape the data engineering roadmap, aligning solutions with business priorities and technical strategies.
• Leverage automation and best practices to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
• Work closely with Data Science, Insight, and Governance teams to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Implement data governance and security standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks and ensure ongoing enhancement of data engineering processes.
• Monitor the data pipeline lifecycle from design to post-deployment performance analysis.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure alignment with project requirements and timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends to continuously enhance data engineering capabilities.
• Maintain clear technical processes to ensure knowledge sharing within the team.
