Job Description

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to join a team developing a new control system platform for nuclear power plants.

This role involves designing and implementing electronic hardware and software for Nuclear Power Plant systems, requiring strong technical problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities Prepare design specificationsPrinted Circuit Board (PCB) design using tools such as AltiumProgrammable Logic Device (PLD) designPerforming simulation/module testing of designPerforming integration testing of the designDocumenting test resultsCreating manufacturing test procedures for designsPerforming PLD / FPGA code reviewsPerforming Verification of Design Specifications and ReportsEngage customers to define scope, review results, and discuss technical risksWork with Tech Leads to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements, and work processesApply engineering fundamentals and 1st order engineering principles to establish and/or confirm expected performanceProvide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering proceduresManage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timelineCommunicate effectively to leadership the status of work activitiesEffectively manage multiple priorities Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field15+ years of relevant experienceKnowledge of common PLD/FPGA languages and PLD/FPGA development tools (Signal Tap, Debuggers, etc)Experience with coding conventions, unit testing, and integration testing of PLD/FPGA'sCircuit board layout experienceSolves technical challenges through the application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem-solvingEffective use of data structures and algorithmsExperience in understanding coding standards that meet and deliver desired functionality using the technology selected for the projectLeadership experience inside and/or outside the classroomExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearlyContributes to creative solutions and challenges the status quoProactively learns new tools and identifies opportunities for improvement, and promotes their adoption Benefits Comprehensive medical/dental/life and disability coverage401(k) with employer matchProfessional development supportFlexible, friendly workplace Company Overview QuEST Defense is a global engineering services company.
