Requirements

• We require active SC and NPPV3 clearance.
• We require 5 years of dedicated AWS Cloud Architecture experience.
• We require proven mastery of EKS, ECS, Fargate, VPC design, and complex networking.
• We require extensive experience architecting cloud environments aligned with NCSC guidelines and government security standards.
• We require advanced, hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and automated pipeline security scanning.

Responsibilities

• We will design and deploy high-availability, fault-tolerant containerized applications on AWS using EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
• We will enforce public sector standards through tight IAM governance, strict VPC network policies, and robust secrets management.
• We will lead cluster configuration, deployment, operational security, and multi-tenant management across AWS Kubernetes environments.
• We will develop reusable, security-checked infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• We will design automated, secure CI/CD deployment pipelines with auditability, rollback mechanisms, and artifact management.
• We will implement centralized logging, tracing, and proactive monitoring using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• We will act as an AWS container subject matter expert, delivering technical designs and guiding multi-disciplinary delivery teams.

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect specializing in containerized platforms to support a critical national law enforcement cloud program. This is a 6-month contract with an option to extend, offered on a hybrid UK-based basis with occasional travel to central government sites. The role is inside IR35 and requires active SC and NPPV3 clearance. We offer a day rate of £550.00 - £590.00.
