Salary: £130,000 - 146,900 per year
Requirements
- We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared AWS API Engineer / Architect with a strong foundation in API and microservices architecture.
- We require active SC Clearance, right to work in the UK, and UK residency.
- We expect experience designing serverless and microservices-based API architectures on AWS.
- We value a solid understanding of RESTful API design patterns and integration standards.
- We are looking for experience supporting system and data integration across distributed services.
- We need someone able to assess technical debt and recommend pragmatic modernisation approaches.
- We would like experience working closely with product teams to align solutions to roadmaps and business needs.
- We expect experience with deployment planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilisation.
- We value collaboration with cybersecurity and delivery teams to produce secure, observable solutions.
- We are looking for experience integrating applications with identity providers and secure access patterns.
- Experience with AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, Aurora RDS Postgres, EKS, ECR, STS, Route 53, and VPC is beneficial.
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Jenkins, observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK, and technologies such as Apollo GraphQL and TypeScript is beneficial.
- Experience with AWS security and monitoring services such as AWS Config, AWS Macie, AWS GuardDuty, AWS Security Hub, Amazon CloudWatch, and Amazon CloudTrail is beneficial.
- We are open to candidates from engineering, delivery, or architecture backgrounds.

Responsibilities
- We will design secure, scalable, and well-integrated API and microservices architectures across multiple client applications and services.
- We will define and apply RESTful API design patterns and integration standards.
- We will support system and data integration across distributed services.
- We will assess technical debt and recommend pragmatic modernisation approaches.
- We will work closely with product teams to design solutions aligned to their roadmap and needs.
- We will support deployment planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilisation.
- We will collaborate with cybersecurity and delivery teams to ensure secure, observable solutions.
