Product Designer

Salary: £28,000 - 28,000 per year

Requirements

• We ideally want someone with an industrial or product design background.
• We would love you to have a creative qualification.
• We need you to be able to prioritise and plan your workload.
• We want someone who shows initiative and is self-motivated.
• You should work well in a team and independently.
• You must have excellent attention to detail.
• We would like you to be experienced in 2D and 3D CAD, including Autocad/Draftsight and Solidworks.
• Having 2 or more years of industry experience is preferable but not essential.
• You should have a genuine passion for homeware products and interiors.
• We are looking for candidates who are ambitious and keen to build a career in the furniture and homeware making industry.

Responsibilities

• We will have you work closely with our Research and Development team to help develop new kitchen and accessory ranges.
• You will research market trends, materials, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• You will help develop new and existing products.
• You will carry out prototyping.
• You will produce CAD drawings in 2D and 3D, along with information for product documentation.
• You will handle sample ordering, reviewing, and testing.
• You will communicate with suppliers and manufacturers.
• You will support the initial production of new products.
• You will maintain continued product quality control.
• You will work on product costing and profitability.
• You will liaise with other departments.
• You will carry out general administration.
• You will support product compliance, certification for the UK and US, and Intellectual Property.
• You may be required to help out in other departments during busy periods or help introduce new products and processes into production.
