How JobiQueue scores a listing, and what a score cannot tell you
Every score comes with its reasons, and that is deliberate. A bare number invites you to trust it; a number with its working shown lets you disagree with it. If the only reason a listing scored badly is that it is older than its peers, and you know the role is a specialist one, you are better placed to judge that than the scanner is.
The signals fall into a few groups. Apply-path signals follow the link and check where it ends up, and whether that destination is consistent with the company doing the hiring. Longevity signals compare how long this role has been listed against others. Re-listing signals look for the same company and title reappearing over time. Presentation signals look at how the listing is structured, which is where the machine-checkable red flags come in.
What the scan explicitly does not do is guess. Where the evidence is thin, it says its confidence is low rather than inventing a verdict, and where a sample is too small to describe honestly, the figure is withheld rather than published with a caveat nobody reads.
The honest framing is that a scan changes the order you work through a results page. It tells you which listings deserve your best cover letter and which deserve a quick application or none at all. It does not tell you that you will hear back.

What this does not measure
A scan reads public signals. It cannot see an employer's hiring intent, whether a role is already filled internally, or whether a company will respond. It can be wrong in both directions: a careless listing from a real, urgent role can score poorly, and a well-presented listing from a company with no plans to hire can score well. It is a prioritisation tool, not a verdict.
Figures are free to reuse with attribution (CC BY 4.0) and are current as of August 24, 2026. The corpus is re-measured continuously, so always carry the measurement date with the number. Ghost Job Index · Methodology
