Sr. BI Application Platform Engineer/Remote

Job Title: Senior BI Application Platform Engineer Location- Remote Job Summary We are seeking a Senior BI Application Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Business Intelligence (BI) platforms and data solutions.

This role focuses on ensuring high performance, reliability, and availability of BI systems while enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage BI platforms and data infrastructure Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration and transformation Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of BI applications Manage BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and reporting environments Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders Implement data governance, security, and access controls Automate deployments and workflows using CI/CD pipelines Optimize data models, queries, and storage for performance Support cloud-based BI solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 5 8 years of experience in BI, data engineering, or platform engineering Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases Hands-on experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, etc.) Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema) Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) Knowledge of scripting/programming (Python, PowerShell) Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks Certifications in BI tools or cloud platforms Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and data accuracy Effective communication with technical and business teams Ability to manage multiple priorities Continuous improvement mindset Work Environment Collaborative work with cross-functional data and business teams May require support for production BI systems Hybrid or cloud-focused environment
