Python Developer

Salary: £30,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong Python application development experience
• AWS or wider public cloud experience
• Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools experience
• GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tooling experience
• Secure SDLC and secure coding experience
• Experience with observability, monitoring, or logging tools
• Experience supporting complex production systems or incident investigations
• SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance
• Experience in platform engineering or DevOps teams is desirable
• Experience building reusable IaC components or CI jobs is desirable
• Experience using static or dynamic security analysis tools is desirable

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, maintainable Python code
• Support cloud-native application development
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and code quality processes
• Work with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Support observability, monitoring, and incident investigation
• Work with product teams on cloud and platform best practice
• Participate in the on-call rota once fully onboarded
• Contribute to cloud-native platform work and help ensure deployments meet security, technical, and governance standards

We are a nationally critical healthcare integration and messaging platform supporting essential services. This is a 6-month contract paying £450 per day inside IR35, starting as soon as possible. The role is mostly remote, with travel to Leeds around once per month, and an on-call rota is required once you are up to speed, currently around 1 in 6 weeks.
