Salary: £40,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for an experienced design practitioner with expertise in interaction and service design.
• We need someone who is an expert user of leading design tools, including Figma, the GOV.UK prototyping kit, and Adobe InDesign.
• You should be able to coach and mentor others and help define design standards for others to follow.
• You should be able to influence colleagues, clients, partners, and peers on the value of interaction and service design.
• You should be able to develop new and novel approaches to highly complex design challenges using strong design principles.
• You should have a broad understanding of the industry or business area.
• You should demonstrate competencies in client focus, drive to deliver, learning and mentoring, facilitation, thinking through making, and professional expertise.
• You must be willing to undertake SC clearance if successful.

Responsibilities

• We will expect you to act as the design subject matter expert on a product team.
• We want you to facilitate the design process and communicate design decisions to the team and stakeholders.
• You will identify potential problems, shape them, and develop solutions.
• You will know when to ask for further guidance and support.
• Your work will usually be reviewed with only occasional direction or implementation changes needed.
• You will contribute to communities of practice by sharing suggestions, approaches, ideas, and feedback.
• You will help assure the quality of design delivery within your team.
• You will introduce good habits for sharing and improving design work.
• You will occasionally take part in hiring designers and researchers.
• You will help define our design principles by delivering good public services.
• You will contribute to our design studio culture at our offices and client sites.
• You will support the delivery of good public services for users with clients.
