Junior Data Engineer - Fabric, Azure

Salary: £41,600 - 42,640 per year

Requirements

• Experience with SQL development and database solutions.
• Experience with ETL development using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and/or Synapse Pipelines.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including fact and dimension modelling.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data technologies.
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, including source control and deployment pipelines.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview.
• Experience with D365 and/or ActiveH systems.
• Familiarity with Azure architecture and cloud-based data platforms.
• Understanding of Data Vault methodology.
• Experience within Housing Associations, Local Authorities, or the Property Development sector.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Build and support data warehouse solutions and dimensional data models.
• Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of our central Azure data platform.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements.
• Support deployments, testing, and source control using Azure DevOps.
• Produce technical documentation and promote data engineering best practices.

We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our well-established Business Insight & Data Science team on a 6-month contract basis. This is a remote role with visits to our West Midlands office 1-2 times a month. We offer the opportunity to work with modern Microsoft data technologies, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure, while helping us build and maintain a central data platform that supports business reporting and analytics.
