Mobile and Front-End Software Engineer

Salary: £46,000 - 79,000 per year

Requirements

• At least 3 years development experience in mobile applications
• Strong commercial experience with React and React Native
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
• Experience with Expo
• Solid understanding of functional components
• Familiarity with React Native architecture (JS thread, UI thread, bridge, TurboModules)
• Experience building cross-platform mobile applications from a single codebase
• Experience with state management solutions (e.g., Zustand, Context API)
• Experience with React Query / TanStack Query for async data fetching, caching, and retries
• Integration with REST APIs
• SSL pinning implementation and secure token handling
• Building responsive, adaptive UIs for different screen sizes
• Experience with mobile navigation libraries (e.g., Expo Router, React Navigation)
• Understanding of Android and iOS application lifecycles
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Xcode, and emulators/simulators
• Experience with performance profiling and optimisation in React Native
• Unit testing with Jest and use of linting tools (e.g., ESLint, Prettier)
• Relevant Bachelors degree is preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain our mobile app and related applications for EV charge point management
• Code using Core React & React Native skills to enhance user experience
• Implement state management solutions and handle data integration securely
• Create responsive mobile UIs and ensure navigation is seamless across platforms
• Mentor IT developers and ensure coding standards are followed
• Optimize app performance and ensure efficient coding practices
• Support CI/CD processes for React Native apps and manage app releases
• Document solutions for all deliverables and maintain reusable automation code
• Collaborate with internal teams including developers, product owners, and project managers
• Conduct unit testing and apply best practices to improve code quality
