Job Description
Our client is actively recruiting a highly experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a fully remote position. This is a unique opportunity to join a cutting-edge team and contribute to the development of innovative hardware and software solutions from your home office.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded software for a range of complex electronic systems. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of low-level programming, real-time operating systems, and hardware-software interaction.
Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for various hardware platforms, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable C/C++ code for embedded systems.
Develop and implement drivers, middleware, and application-level software. Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or embedded Linux.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration. Perform thorough testing and debugging of embedded software using various tools, including emulators, simulators, and JTAG debuggers.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices. Optimize embedded software for performance, memory usage, and power consumption. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and hardware issues in development and production environments.
Stay current with the latest embedded technologies, tools, and methodologies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools. Effectively communicate technical details and progress to team members and management in a remote setting.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded software development. Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
In-depth knowledge of embedded systems architecture and microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, RISC-V). Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) is essential. Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and techniques (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).
Understanding of communication protocols commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet). Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Must be authorized to work in the US.
