Salary: £39,000 - 42,250 per year

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (on-premise) and SSIS
• Advanced T-SQL development and debugging skills
• Proven experience working on ETL pipelines, particularly testing and troubleshooting
• Experience enhancing existing integrations rather than only building new solutions
• Strong experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance
• Experience using Python for ETL, automation, or data processing
• Familiarity with Azure SQL or cloud-based data platforms
• Ability to work independently in an operational, delivery-focused environment
• Desirable: experience with Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, or Power Platform
• Desirable: NHS or regulated data environment experience

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and support existing ETL and data ingestion processes
• Investigate and resolve data issues, failures, and performance bottlenecks
• Enhance and optimise existing SSIS packages and SQL-based integrations
• Develop new ingestion pipelines and transformation logic where required
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities
• Support wider data platform modernisation and Azure migration initiatives
• Collaborate with analytics and reporting teams to ensure downstream data reliability

We are partnering with an NHS organisation to recruit a hands-on Data Engineer to support critical data integration and ETL workloads across a Microsoft-based environment. This is a 3-month initial contract, likely to extend, operating inside IR35 and offered at a rate of £325 per day.
