Requirements
- Strong experience in network design and architecture, including LAN/WAN and data centre environments
- Expertise in VPN technologies, IPSec/SSL, and secure network design
- Proven experience with cloud networking environments such as AWS and Azure
- Hands-on experience with security technologies including firewalls, DDoS protection, WAF, proxy, and NAC
- Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, STP, and multicast
- Experience with network hardware including Fortinet firewalls, Juniper routers and switches, and Cisco networking technologies
- Solid troubleshooting skills across complex IP networks
- Understanding of overlay and underlay network design
- Experience with network monitoring and performance tuning tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable
- 8-15 years experience in network engineering or data centre environments
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust LAN/WAN and enterprise network infrastructures
- Recommend and deploy network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Develop and implement network monitoring and performance optimisation solutions
- Align network architecture with our business and IT strategy
- Design and integrate VoIP and telecommunications systems
- Lead network upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvements
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance, security, and scalability

We are partnering with a leading technology organisation that supports enterprises in accelerating digital transformation through innovative IT services, data engineering, and advanced technology solutions. This is a senior contract opportunity based on-site in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, working five days per week. The initial contract is for 10 weeks with a high potential for extension, at a competitive day rate and outside IR35. Interviews are conducted remotely, with a minimum of three stages, and we are looking for someone available to start within two weeks of the final interview.
