DevSecOps Engineer - Stevenage

Requirements

• We are looking for someone with a strong background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or DevSecOps.
• We require hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
• We need experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure and/or AWS.
• We require exposure to vulnerability management or security tooling such as Defender for Cloud, Tenable, Nessus, AWS Inspector, or similar.
• We are looking for experience improving security posture across infrastructure, configurations, or applications.
• We need a solid understanding of security best practices, system hardening, and secure configuration.
• We require comfort working across both cloud and on-premises environments.
• We require candidates to be eligible for security clearance and to hold British citizenship.
• We are looking for candidates who can start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• We own the end-to-end vulnerability lifecycle, from identification and validation through to remediation, verification, and closure.
• We identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-premises environments.
• We use security and posture management tooling to detect and prioritise risks.
• We translate security findings into clear, actionable remediation plans.
• We work closely with engineering teams to implement secure fixes and ensure changes are tested and deployed safely.
• We remediate vulnerabilities through patching, configuration hardening, and the application of security controls.
• We validate remediation through re-scanning and verification processes.
• We deploy and scale fixes using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices across multiple environments.
• We produce clear documentation covering risk, root cause, remediation, and residual risk.
• We track and report on vulnerability trends, SLAs, and improvements to security posture.
• We continuously improve vulnerability management processes, including triage, prioritisation, and exception handling.
• We support the implementation of secure configuration baselines and security best practices.

We are a growing cyber security consultancy offering a hands-on DevSecOps Engineer role focused on strengthening security across complex cloud and on-premises environments. This is a remote-first position for the first six months, followed by one day onsite in Stevenage or Bristol. We offer a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, up to 31 days annual leave, expenses, and an overnight bonus. Due to the nature of our work, security clearance is essential, and candidates must hold British citizenship. We are seeking someone who can make a genuine impact across multiple client environments by using DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and security tooling to drive measurable improvements in vulnerability management and security posture.
