Remote Mid-level Frontend Engineer

Salary: £29,000 - 58,000 per year

Requirements

• We probably expect a degree in a STEM subject, although we are happy to work with people who developed their craft through a different route.
• We are looking for experience working at a similar level in a mature engineering team and a desire to take your career to the next level.
• We need technical expertise in at least one frontend framework, ideally React.

Responsibilities

• We define the best technical solutions to business problems and contribute to an architectural vision that can scale to a world-leading research platform.
• We ship working code using React on the frontend and Kotlin microservices with Postgres on the backend, while also working with some legacy Ruby on Rails services and evaluating new technologies.
• We release frequently using CIrcleCI and Spinnaker for CI/CD, gather feedback quickly, and use it to inform our next iterations.
• We build our competency by learning quickly from experienced colleagues in a high-performance environment and by using our L&D budget to develop specific technical skills.
• We monitor our services carefully, catch errors before users notice them, diagnose root causes, and deploy fixes.
