Salary: £47,000 - 87,000 per year
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or a related field, with at least 3+ years in AWS cloud environments.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, and resource management for AWS EKS clusters.
- Strong understanding of AWS core services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Strong knowledge of configuring and maintaining Splunk and Datadog.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Hands-on experience managing and operating EKS cluster environments.
- Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio and integration with Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Jenkins or similar tools.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience implementing day-2 operations such as upgrades, backup and restore, and cost optimization.
- Knowledge of container security best practices and tools.
- Knowledge of creating Helm charts.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools using OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for cloud environments.
- AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, AWS Security, or DevOps Engineer are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure to support our microservices-based applications.
- Manage our AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Work with AWS services, containerization, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Support and operate EKS cluster environments.
- Configure and maintain observability tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
- Use Terraform or OpenTofu to build and manage infrastructure as code.
- Integrate service mesh technologies such as Istio with Kubernetes.
- Apply CI/CD principles and work with Jenkins or similar tools.
- Automate and troubleshoot using Bash and Python.
- Perform day-2 activities including upgrades, backup and restore, and cost optimization.
