Salary: £47,000 - 87,000 per year

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or a related field, with at least 3+ years in AWS cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, and resource management for AWS EKS clusters.
  • Strong understanding of AWS core services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Strong knowledge of configuring and maintaining Splunk and Datadog.
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
  • Hands-on experience managing and operating EKS cluster environments.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio and integration with Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience implementing day-2 operations such as upgrades, backup and restore, and cost optimization.
  • Knowledge of container security best practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of creating Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools using OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for cloud environments.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, AWS Security, or DevOps Engineer are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure to support our microservices-based applications.
  • Manage our AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with AWS services, containerization, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Support and operate EKS cluster environments.
  • Configure and maintain observability tools such as Splunk and Datadog.
  • Use Terraform or OpenTofu to build and manage infrastructure as code.
  • Integrate service mesh technologies such as Istio with Kubernetes.
  • Apply CI/CD principles and work with Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Automate and troubleshoot using Bash and Python.
  • Perform day-2 activities including upgrades, backup and restore, and cost optimization.
