IT Operations Technician

Salary: £46,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Computer science degree
• Good understanding of TCP/IP
• Familiarity with both wired and wireless LANs, ADSL and FTTC-based WAN connections
• Experience developing and communicating technical specifications
• Experience installing and troubleshooting IT equipment in a structured environment
• Full UK driving license
• Flexibility for nationwide travel

Responsibilities

• We will install and maintain our IT operating environment
• We will support IT infrastructure across our national portfolio of homes
• We will monitor the performance of computer networks and servers
• We will remotely manage desktop PCs and laptops, ensuring all equipment is safe and up to date
• We will work closely with software developers and procurement managers
• We will provide first, second, and third line support to all IT users in the group
• We will deliver infrastructure projects
• We will manage firewalls within the network
• We will take the lead in configuring Wi-Fi equipment, including access points, associated switches and controllers
• We will provide technical advice to management on emerging technologies
• We will assist with the maintenance of inventories and IT systems documentation
