Senior Application Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• MS in Physics/Optical Engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge in Optical Design
• Strong proficiency in commercial optical software tool, Ansys Zemax OpticStudio
• Solid understanding of optimization methods
• Experience with Python
• Ability to analyze and debug complex technical issues in customer environments
• Excellent technical documentation and presentation skills
• Experience with other commercial optical software tools (e.g. Ansys Speos, Ansys Lumerical, Code V, LucidShape, Lighttools) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand their requirements and provide expert guidance on optical solutions
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and hands-on workshops to showcase product capabilities and value
• Provide in-depth technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including troubleshooting, optimization, and integration assistance for Ansys Zemax OpticStudio
• Collaborate with internal R&D teams to relay customer feedback and influence product enhancements
• Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, application notes, and best practice guides
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization
