Senior Fullstack Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• We need strong, hands-on experience with Bazel in a production environment.
• We need strong backend experience with Java and SQL.
• We need experience working on CI systems and build pipelines at scale.
• We need background in build system migrations or adoptions, such as moving from Gradle, Make, or CMake to Bazel.
• We need experience working with large codebases or monorepos.
• We need senior-level engineering experience and comfort operating across systems and abstractions.
• We need someone who can work effectively in a hands-on infrastructure engineering role focused on developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• We design, maintain, and evolve Bazel-based build systems in a large monorepo environment.
• We support and improve CI/CD pipelines, including migration from legacy CI tooling to a modern CI platform.
• We enable the colocation and integration of multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop, within a single client-focused monorepo.
• We improve build reliability, performance, caching, and developer feedback loops.
• We collaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to roll out build and tooling changes safely.
• We help shape internal developer tooling, best practices, and documentation.
• We work on foundational tooling used daily by hundreds of engineers across multiple platforms.

We are a large global tech firm offering a fully remote contract opportunity based in London, UK, with a rate of 550.00 - 650.00 GBP daily and an expected duration until mid-October, with extension likely.
