About the Role Our client, a global innovator in automated manufacturing systems, is looking for a highly motivated Remote Senior Automation Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team.
This position is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated automation solutions for our diverse client base. You will leverage your expertise in control systems, robotics, and software development to drive efficiency and enhance production capabilities.
Working from your home office, you will collaborate closely with virtual teams, project managers, and clients to deliver state-of-the-art automation projects.
This role demands a proactive individual with a strong track record of success in automation engineering and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability and performance of our clients' operations.
Key Responsibilities Design and develop automated control systems for manufacturing equipment using PLC, HMI, and SCADA software. Program and integrate industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) into automated production lines.
Develop and debug software for automation projects, ensuring seamless operation and integration. Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide technical support for installed automation systems.
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure the optimal design and functionality of automated solutions. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, programming code, and user manuals.
Oversee the virtual commissioning and testing of automation systems prior to deployment. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technology and recommend innovative solutions. Manage project timelines and deliverables for automation tasks within remote teams.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial automation engineering, with a focus on control systems and robotics.
Extensive experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development. Proficiency in robot programming and simulation software. Strong understanding of network protocols used in industrial automation (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet).
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues remotely. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective virtual collaboration. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
Experience with vision systems and industrial cybersecurity is a plus.
