Job Description
Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements
- We are looking for someone with 5+ years experience project-managing, ideally in regulated medical device development or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
- You are an exceptional, proactive communicator who keeps stakeholders informed in real time and is comfortable holding senior colleagues to their commitments.
- You are highly organised and detail-driven, with strong command of project management tools such as Jira and Miro, or similar.
- You have a proven track record of managing multiple parallel projects and multidisciplinary stakeholders across engineering, regulatory, clinical and commercial teams to deadline.
- You have working knowledge of medical device development and regulatory processes, including design controls, change control, ISO 13485 and IEC 62304, enough to coordinate effectively without needing to write requirements or code.
- You bring a hands-on, scale-up mindset and are comfortable using AI tools such as Claude to accelerate documentation and planning.
Responsibilities
- We act as the central point of contact for project status across all projects and product workstreams, keeping one clear, up-to-date view of progress.
- We communicate progress, delays and risks proactively and in real time so stakeholders are never left to hear news late or second-hand.
- We run the cadence of cross-functional release and change-request meetings, capturing decisions and circulating clear, timely updates.
- We hold regular design reviews with key stakeholders throughout the change management process, keeping product, engineering, regulatory and clinical aligned.
- We take each agreed change request and map the full sequence of events, dependencies, owners and milestones through to delivery.
- We set realistic delivery dates, track progress against them, and flag slippage early.
- We hold stakeholders accountable for committed inputs and chase owners until requirements, documents and tasks are complete.
- We manage expectations and troubleshoot issues as they arise, adjusting plans and re-sequencing work when circumstances change.
- We manage project closure and wrap-up by confirming deliverables are complete, capturing lessons learned, and handing over cleanly at the end of each project.
- We manage the change request process end to end, ensuring each request is properly defined and scoped before development begins.
- We coordinate Product Owners, Engineering, QA and Regulatory to confirm requirements and acceptance criteria are understood and agreed up front.
- We facilitate the wider delivery cadence, including release planning, cross-functional release meetings and change-request reviews.
- We make sure work is genuinely ready before it enters a sprint, with requirements and acceptance criteria agreed and the change request signed off.
- We keep project tooling accurate and up to date, using Jira, Miro or equivalent, so progress and blockers are visible across every workstream.
- We be comfortable running multiple parallel projects across our portfolio.
- We maintain the visibility and documentation that remove single points of failure.
- We continuously improve how we plan and deliver, championing lightweight, effective ways of working over process for its own sake.
