VP of DevOps

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience leading DevOps / platform teams at scale (Head of / Director / VP level)
• Strong technical background, ideally with roots in software engineering or software delivery
• Proven ability to standardise DevOps practices across multiple teams or environments
• Experience working across hybrid infrastructure (cloud, on-prem, data centre)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and automation-first engineering
• Mindset focused on simplification and practicality, not over-engineering
• Comfortable working in evolving environments that are not fully standardised

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of DevOps across a global engineering organisation
• Focus on standardising how software is built, deployed, and operated across multiple teams and environments
• Improve software delivery and CI/CD standards
• Enhance Infrastructure as Code and automation practices
• Ensure platform reliability and engineering velocity
• Maintain tooling consistency across acquired platforms
• Simplify and unify existing systems without introducing unnecessary complexity
• Split time between leadership (65-70%) and technical involvement (30-35%)
