Technical Architect - Azure Cloud, Application Architecture

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements

• We require current UK SC Clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain SC Clearance.
• We require proven experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient Azure architectures in complex enterprise environments.
• We require a strong background in assessing legacy technology estates and defining cloud migration, modernisation, resilience, and technical debt reduction strategies.
• We require experience designing and improving high-availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions across infrastructure and business-critical applications.
• We require experience reviewing application architectures and working with business stakeholders and software vendors on application upgrades, migrations, selection, replacement, or modernisation initiatives.
• We require knowledge of secure-by-design principles, Azure governance, identity management, compliance frameworks, and operational best practices.
• We require the ability to define architecture deliverables such as HLD and LLD, guide engineering teams, and engage effectively with technical, business, and programme stakeholders.
• Azure architecture certifications are highly desirable.
• AWS exposure is advantageous.
• We require candidates to be UK-based.

Responsibilities

• We provide senior architectural leadership to design and guide resilient, secure, and scalable cloud solutions within a multi-year IT resilience improvement programme.
• We assess existing technology landscapes and define high- and low-level architecture designs.
• We shape practical approaches to cloud adoption, disaster recovery, business continuity, technical debt reduction, and application modernisation.
• We work across both infrastructure and application domains to ensure business-critical platforms and services are designed for resilience, scalability, operational readiness, and long-term business value.
• We collaborate closely with programme leadership, engineers, and delivery teams to define technical workstreams and support engineering execution.
• We ensure solutions align with cloud-first principles, security best practices, and operational readiness.
• We support the assessment, selection, modernisation, and lifecycle management of business-critical applications.
• We work with application vendors and business stakeholders on complex upgrades and platform changes.
